The company is reportedly working on new features that will ease the user experience even more. The beta-testing of new features has now begun, and they are most likely to become official shortly. Let’s take a look at three major features that will be coming soon to WhatsApp.
Three Interesting WhatsApp Updates
In a recent leak, WABetaInfo claims that WhatsApp tests the ability to delete messages after days for everyone. It has been included in WhatsApp for Desktop beta version 2.2147.4. This feature was spotted earlier in WhatsApp for Android beta version 188.8.131.52.
Once the feature is introduced, users may delete sent messages even if waiting for 7 days. There will be a time limit of 7 days and 8 minutes for users to delete sent messages. In short, it’s much longer than the current time limit of 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds. Delete for Everyone was first introduced back in 2017, and this feature will expand on it.
Apparently, WhatsApp had previously aimed to remove message deletion restrictions, but now is considering increasing the time limit. Since the messaging platform is still in testing, there is a possibility that it could shift its plans before its official release.
As part of the upgrade, audio messages will be played at different speeds. During playback, users will be able to change the speed of audio messages by up to 1.5 times or 2 times. This is a similar function to that of voice notes. A key point regarding audio messages is that they are forwarded voice messages or any other audio.
Additionally, WhatsApp intends to add message reactions. Users will respond to messages with emojis, just as they do on Facebook posts or Instagram DMs.
How do you feel about each of the Updates? Although it’s not certain when these features will be rolled out, these are definitely exciting.
